HORSEY

Saddle up Partner!

One of Dan's mission friends (Jordan) and his family live on a cattle ranch (owned/run by Jordan's family) in a small town called Leadore, Idaho. We try to visit them and work on the ranch with them at least once a year. This trip was extra special because Harrison got to ride a horse. He was so excited about it and talked about it for days before and after. He even decided to name the horse Caramel before he even met it! The scenery is beautiful there and we always have an amazing time doing things we've never done before. Dan got to drive his first semi-truck on this trip. Previous trips have given opportunities to drive tractors, big trucks, 4 wheelers, and assist with moving cows from one place to another. Patrice would LOVE to move up there, but Dan would have a hard time, especially since the closest movie theater is an hour away.

Harrison having a blast atop Caramel.

Even though we went on Memorial Day weekend, it was freezing cold. It snowed two of the days we were there and we wore coats most of the time. But regardless of the weather, Harrison had a blast and loved seeing all of the animals from his books up close and in person. A big thanks to Jordan, Susan, Reiny, and Ryann for hosting us for the weekend and for being great friends. Looking forward to lots more trips over the years and, who knows, maybe even a (chaste) romance between our kids. Only time will tell!
