We're having a BOY!!!!
All of you mothers who say that your motherly intuition was wrong about the sex of their baby was probably not tuned to the right frequency. I also just made five bucks from Patrice's step-mom, Nancy. When the ultrasound doctor told me it was a boy and I told him I just won that bet, he said I should have bet more. When we were looking at the pictures on the big television, I swear that I saw his defining feature before the doctor showed us, and I was sure proud of how, ahem, large our son was at such a young age. After mentioning it, the doc informed me that was just the umbilical cord. Seriously though, we are super excited. The grandsons in the family were slightly outnumbered, but this will even things up.
The fact that I will be a father is really starting to become more real to me. It was quite amazing looking at the images on the screen and seeing another life. I am humbled by the power to create a life and I realize again that God is really in charge and knows what he's doing. That is something that I never doubted, but these sort of experiences are the ones that remind me. I know all of you current parents out there can identify with what I am trying to say.
I am really excited for the upcoming changes and the challenges they will bring. I know it will be hard, but as I once heard Elder Jeffrey R. Holland say, "Nothing worthwhile is ever easy".

Wow Dan! How ahem LARGE your son is! Well! I am very excited for you and Patrice! I can't wait to see how cute your little boy is going to be! Congrats again!
Congratulations! You will be a great dad and I know that Patrice will be a wonderful mother. This is an amazing adventure and you will learn A LOT as you struggle, enjoy, teach, and love this new little one. Buckle your seatbelt - it will be a wonderful ride!!!!

YAY! BIG congrats! We were so excited this morning when we got your text message. You two will raise a BEAUTIFUL baby boy (he'll probably grow up into a Mr.Darcy hehe). You better get that "Future Mr.Darcy" onesie you saw awhile back. He'll need it!
Yeah for boys!! They are so much fun!! Congrats to both of you, being a parent is the best thing that happens in this lifetime!!
Wow! I hadn't even heard. I just happened to look at your blog today. Congratulations! That is so cool. Isn't it weird to find out what you are having. IT makes the whole thing more real. Now what will his name be? Kenneth Charles?
I am so excited for you! I can't give you parenting advice on boys. I just know that they are a lot easier than girls! Congrats!
Just keep on eye on my bench at church and it will give you some insight of what you are in for!!!!!! Wild and crazy times but rewarding and fun! Congrats!!!!
