Bestest man I know

Sorry ladies, he's taken! I honestly don't know how I got so lucky and got to marry the bestest husband/father. He is truly a "CATCH." Inside joke...wink, wink! Thank you Dan for ALL that you do for me and for our family. You are the most patient, loving, truthful, outgoing, movie loving man that I know!

When we were deciding to landscaping our yard last year, I really wanted space for a garden. Dan doesn't really like to garden, but we agreed to allow some space as long as it was my "project." I guess I always have "projects" and ways to beautify our home :). Last year I did a garden, but I wasn't happy with it. We got A LOT of zucchini, but the tomatoes were sparse and those are what I love. Who doesn't love a fresh tomato sandwich, right? And we had a TON of weeds. It was a mess!!!

This season I wanted to have a beautiful garden. Garden boxes with good soil, rock, stepping stones. I was all excited, even had family give me Home Depot gift cards for my birthday, but soon realized that I couldn't do this alone and that it wouldn't be "my project." How can I carry 40-50lbs bags for rocks and soil being 5 months prego. NOT going to happen. I recruited my mom and John to help; next was to turn on the charm for my Danny! He was so supportive on this latest "project" and I think he might have been a little, tiny bit excited for the garden??? Maybe? I might be pressing my luck with that one :)

Friday night we loaded 20 bags of rocks and 16 bags of different types of soil. Grabbed a quick bite to eat (the Farnsworth boys have to be fed. I learned this at my wedding shower. Fed boys=happy boys). Got home, unload the cars, and started weeding. I wasn't allowed to do anything, so I just sat there and cheered the team on. Oh, and got 100+ mosquito bites. Darn those bugs!

Saturday we got up bright and early. Weeding some more, put together the garden boxes, unloaded the rocks/soil, made another trip to Home Depot for more soil/rocks; and I now have 4 beautiful gardening boxes with lovely soil. I LOVE THEM!!! I kept looking outside Saturday/Sunday and admiring the boxes. They make me so so so happy. I hope to plant zucchini, tomatoes, snap peas, green beans, squash, and some herbs. Lets just hope I can get some tomatoes this year! Keeping my fingers crossed!

Thanks Dan, Mom and John for all of your hard work. I wish I could have helped more, but I wasn't allowed! Harrison even helped a little...he liked it! I can't wait to plant and have Harrison help me by playing in the dirt! Dan got his theater room and I get my garden...we are happy kids!

Next? Convincing Dan to let me buy this! PLLLLLEASE!!!

Wishful thinking!
