My mom LOVES Diet Coke. She wakes up in the morning and the first thing she does is pour herself a tall glass of ice cold Diet Coke. I think my mom even dreams about it. Her fridge and garage always has a huge stash of her favorite drink. Anyways, growing up we always had Diet Coke in the fridge, but I never got addicted to it. Yes my mom is addicted to it, but she will admit this, so it's okay :). I'm pretty pleased, and surprised, with myself for never getting hooked on this drink, even though it was always readily available. I guess I'm just not a pop, soda, or whatever you call it drinker. On to my point, we had dinner with my mom and John last night and of course my mom was drinking her Diet Coke, and after we had finished eating, my mom was holding Harrison. While we were chatting, Harrison soon became fascinated with my mom's drink. He was trying so hard to reach her glass that was sitting on the table in front of him, just stretching his little arms out and making the funniest faces. He was completely focused on her Diet Coke and wanted to grasp it so bad. We moved the cup closer and closer to him until he was finally able to get the glass in his hand and put it to his mouth. He was sucking on the glass and very fascinated with the drink inside. I was of course trying to make sure that Harrison didn't actually get any of the drink because the last thing I needed was him hopped up on caffeine, but my mom was tempting him with a taste of it from her finger. He did NOT get a taste, but it was so funny watching him try his darnedest to get to the magical drink inside. I think my mom was a little excited about his fascination with her favorite drink....Diet Coke!

Chase gave Reiny Mt. Dew at one of the basketball games here and thought it was funny that she didn't fall asleep until 11pm that night! I sympathize! Oh, and way to copy my blog background...I guess immitation is truly the greatest form of flattery! we miss you!
I used to be hooked on Diet Coke too - then I found out that aspertame was my enemy so I switched to regular Coke. Of course that helped pack on the pounds so I have given up soda (at least for the time being)- I have not had a Coke for 12 weeks!!!! All of my grandkids love Coke and would drink it with complete abandon if we let them - but gratefully they only get a small taste now and then. I do my best as grandma though - to keep them all hyped up on sugar! Harrison is adorable!
Love ya,
Aunt Cathy
I hear such addictions skips a generation ... just like baldness. :D
Oh Patrice.. You have no idea what you are missing out on.. But I would start him on cherry Coke. I have become addicted..
You have to admit it would have been pretty funny to see Harrison's expression if he were to taste it...well, at least I would have liked to see it.:)
I feel much the same about Diet DP!
