Books

This is my dream...a library full of books. A girl can always dream.
I need help. I want to start collecting books for Harrison....

What is your favorite childhood book?

I was obsessed with Little House on the Prairie. But I don't think that's quite up Harrison's alley!

I loved "Where the Red Fern Grows". I read some of the Hardy Boys. "James and the Giant Peach", "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory", The Narnia Chronicles (loved "The Lion The Witch and The Wardrobe"), "The Giving Tree", "There's a Monster at the End of the Book" (Title?, it's a Sesame Street book with Grover...I bought it in 1981 when my Grandpa Farnsworth was in the hospital and I bought it because it made me laugh at a dark time). I'm sure there are more, but it's been soooo long since I was a child! LOL!

I loved the Ramona books by Beverly Cleary. Not exactly baby boy material, but I can definitely recommend tons of good picture books. My boys love "Things That Are Most in the World", most anything Dr. Seuss, and anything that has animals--we have a great one called "Actual Size". At a baby's age, though, nice sturdy board books are in order, and he will chew on them and ruin the edges, it's inevitable.

One of Evan's favorite books for so long was 'Polar Bear, Polar Bear, What Do You Hear?' We read it to her so many times that she could recite it by the time she could talk! 'Goodnight, Moon' is good too. I am so enjoying following your blog!

My favorite is "Love You Forever". Also, way before we even got pregnant, Bill and I joined the Dr. Seuss and Friends program through Scholastic. It cost us about $19.00 every other month (or so), and it was great. We got so many books. We stopped it after awhile do to bugdet, but we did get a lot of children's books!
