Boy or Girl

I haven't updated our blog in ages. I just feel that I have nothing to Blog about, but everyone wants to hear about our pregnancy. I don't want to be one of those people who can only talks about being pregnant, but I will give a little update.

Today we are 17 weeks a long. Time flies. Last Tuesday, May 13 I actually felt the baby move/kick. I was at work and I felt this little pinch on my left side. It was really exciting to finally feel the little life inside of me. Wednesday we got a call from the Doctor and my blood test result came back negative. There are no signs of any Chromosome abnormalities and everything looks perfect. Dan and I are reading the book, What to Expect when you are Expecting and we realized that I am having a very normal pregnancy, which we are very thankful for. I am very fortunate in that I haven't been too sick and now I am in the 2nd trimester, so things will only get better (at least this is what everyone tells me). Saturday we painted the nursery. Okay, I didn't paint; Dan, my mom and her friend John painted, but I was a great supervisor. We painted the nursery a very neutral color, a light taupe. I LOVE it and am excited to accent with either pinks or blues. We hope to find out the sex of the baby in early June. Dan and I both feel that we are having a boy, but we would be happy with either. Dan REALLY wants a boy!!! I think all men do? It has also been fun picking out names.

Painting the nursery was very fun and exciting and it finally hit me that we are having a BABY!!! I am so excited, but also nervous to become a mom. I know that Dan will be a wonderful father, since he is already the favorite uncle. I am nervous to give a newborn a bath, cutting their little fingernails, and just the simple/little everyday tasks. I am so grateful that my mom is close to call on. She has done so much for Dan and I already; I only hope I will be as good as a mom as she has been to me. Thanks mom and we love you. You are going to be a grandma!!!

Saturday night we booked a flight to California. We want to go to the beach, Universal Studios, and bask in the sun. We are both looking forward to a vacation, since it will probably be the last without a little one =).

Any bets on whether its a boy or a girl? Dan has a bet going with Nancy (Patrice's step-mom) of five bucks that its going to be a boy.

Be careful, I thought I had mother's intuition and were having a boy for our first. Obviously, I was dead wrong! Charles was also very surprised that we were having a girl. So you never know... I think mother's intuition is a bunch of $%£@!

When I was pregnant with Kelli I had an ultrasound and the doctor told me that she was a boy. After having two girls we were very excited! When she was born Ray looked at the doctor and said, "I thought you told us we were having a boy?" The doctor told Ray that an ultrasound is only 80% right and sometimes they get it wrong! Of course we would never trade any of our beautiful girls for a boy but Ray was sure happy to get some grandsons - in fact now the boys in our family outnumber the girls! Each little one is such an amazing blessing and they have such a great spirit. I'm sure that your baby will be beautiful and healthy and that is the most important thing! What a great adventure awaits you!
Love ya,
Aunt Cathy

Mothers intuition was right for me. I am 2 for 2.
but I have to say, I think that you are having a girl.... just to rock the boat.
You will be a great mom & those things (nails & baths) you just do them & everything turns out OK.

Jordan and I were dead sure that Reiny was a boy...wrong! So I think you're having a girl, but I hope it's a boy. I think that it would be fun to set our kids up on a date when they're older! Good luck, and have fun in CA!
